About Gracious Living

Blend your dreams and favorite possessions
into timeless, comfortable, classic style

Molly McIntosh

Some people just have a good eye for design. So Molly McIntosh discovered over 20 years ago when she sought help with her home from an interior design firm—and ended up being hired to work there! She should have known—even at five she insisted that her whole bedroom be done in pink from top to bottom and was constantly moving her furniture and “accessorizing.”

Now an award-winning interior designer (with a much expanded color palette) and the talent behind the name Gracious Living Interior Design, Molly is known for her warm, gracious environments that inspire you to make your home the center of your life.

Pleasing design begins with Molly’s ability to ask questions and listen carefully as you explore your needs and desires and work together to define your own style. Open communication throughout the design process helps develop trust, confidence, and a comfortable, working relationship. Building on your input, Molly guides your consideration of such elements as your home’s existing features and proportions, the sources of light, and the function required of each space. From these pieces evolve gracious, warm, and inspired rooms—unique spaces that tell your own personal story in a timeless way.

Professional affiliations reinforce Molly’s commitment to excellence. She has been a member of Northwest Society of Interior Designers (NWSID) since 1989. In 1994 she passed the Interior Design Society professional examination, becoming a professional member of NWSID and, in 1997, an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). Since 2000, she’s been listed in the International Who’s Who in Interior Design™ and Who’s Who in America™.

Molly’s work has received ongoing public recognition and exposure:

  • 2005 Client residence featured on the Anacortes Home & Boat Tour
  • 2004 Personal residence featured on the annual Art and Architecture Tour, sponsored by the Museum of Northwest Art
  • 2003 Seattle Interiors Show: "Northwest Nesting" vignette received Silver Award for Designer’s Intent
  • 1994 Master Home Builders of King & Snohomish counties: received Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence (MAME) Silver Award for Best Home Design in $375,000-$500,000 category
  • 1994 NWSID: Second Place Winner for Residential Vignette Over $5,000
  • 1993 Seattle Symphony Show House Room Designer

Molly’s experience also includes designing interior signage for hospitals in California and serving as an in-house residential interior designer for design firms in Ohio and Washington. She founded Gracious Living Interior Design in 1983, personally providing all design services.

Based in scenic Anacortes, WA, Gracious Living specializes in design for clients in Washington’s Pacific Northwest corner—from Marysville north to Bellingham and throughout Skagit County and the San Juan Islands (link opens in new browser window).
