Portfolio » Master Bath Renovation

Design Goal

Transform a small, dated master bath into a first class, custom bathroom with contemporary fixtures and rich yet soothing Asian/Tuscan styling.

Challenges

Work within the confines of limited 136-square-foot (approx. 10×13) area to replace a seldom-used whirlpool tub, upgrade shower and sink, and carve out a private toilet room.

Designer’s Role

Working in conjunction with the clients’ architect and their desire for a contemporary yet warm environment, Gracious Living designed all bathroom interiors, selecting the color palette and all hard surface materials: floor and wall tile, mosaic design, granite, cabinetry, and hardware.

The Result

Translucent Asian shoji screens balance rich cherry wood and Tuscan and classic detailing to create a warm, relaxing Yin/Yang environment. A linen closet was relocated and seldom-used whirlpool tub removed to make room for a stylish soaking tub, an enlarged and upgraded shower, private toilet room, and stylish sink facilities.
