New cherry cabinetry in the den provides lots of room for storage and display, while echoing kitchen cabinetry in style and material (the new cherry will darken with age to match that in the kitchen). The corner cabinet offers a good viewing angle for a flat screen TV.
An existing rug and fireplace brick were the jumping off points for comfortable new furnishings in earthy neutrals that replaced outdated, space-hogging over-scaled pieces. A walkway behind the sofa provides access to the laundry, powder room, back stairway, and garage.
