Tongue and groove boards were installed horizontally on the walls and ceiling, then beams were applied to resemble the interior of a ship’s hull. Carpeting was removed and hardwood floors refinished. The finishing touches are the authentic nautical elements—a ship’s wheel, portholes, lighting, and cabinet hardware. There’s plenty of room for guests on twin-bed-size window seats (with built-in storage beneath) and a hide-a-bed sofa.
